The past couple of years have seen many strides in the LGBTQ community – such as same-sex marriages in many countries as well as a lot less judgment and fear over coming out to others.
In democratic and autocratic nations, people of the LGBTQ community still live in fear across the world despite all the progress that has been made. President Trump announced during the month of July 2017 that all transgender people would be banned from serving in the U.S military and the Department of Justice filed a court report that states employees are not protected from discrimination based on their sexual orientation.
U.K.’s Sexual Offences Act that officially decriminalized homosexuality in England and Wales had it’s 50th anniversary to the amendment of the act on the 27th of July 2017.
To mark the occasion, Absolut made a bold print campaign, “Kiss With Pride,” to celebrate how much the LGBTQ community has accomplished and how much that still needs to be done.
The boldness of the ad and the way they’ve incorporated Absolut vodka into the posters as neon lights featuring the colours of the LGBTQ flag is inspirational and creative.Adweek, images via Absolut]
